London: Members event at Tomasso Brothers Gallery

Wednesday 11 July 2018

Tomasso Brothers Fine Art Gallery, London

NEW START TIME OF 5pm (So we didn't clash with the football!)

PAIAM Members were invited to attend an evening at the Tomasso Brothers Fine Art Gallery in St James’s, London.

Tomasso Brothers Fine Art was established in 1993 and opened its first London gallery in St James’s in 2013. Dino and Raffaello are recognised internationally for specialising in important European sculpture, with a particular knowledge of European Renaissance bronzes. They advise the Arts Council England and have promoted and supported major international institutions through loans and exhibitions, including the landmark show 'Bronze' at the Royal Academy of Arts, London. They have made significant sales to museums worldwide including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.

The evening was held in the wonderful gallery space and included a tour of the highlights on display by Emanuela Tarizzo, Gallery Head. She was joined by Dr Silvia Davoli, Research Curator at Strawberry Hill, who talked about Tomasso Brothers’ support for the major exhibition opening at Strawberry Hill in October – Lost Treasures of Strawberry Hill – which will see many artworks from Horace Walpole’s dispersed collection brought back to the house for the first time. Tomasso Brothers will be sponsoring the exhibition and lending two sculptures.

The evening was enjoyed by over 40 PAIAM members and we were delighted to accommodate the dormant football fans amongst the membership by bringing the start-time forward to allow everyone time to enjoy the gallery and talks before heading off to watch England in their historic semi-final match.
