Petra works on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters relating to the art and antiques market, acting on behalf of private collectors, artists, dealers, organisations and trustees. Her dispute resolution work often involves issues of title, history, provenance or authenticity of works of art and cultural property. The transactional matters include advising on the acquisition and sale of collections, advising on import and export matters and the cross-border movement of art and drafting commissioning agreements, consignment agreements, loan agreements and terms and conditions of business. Petra also advises in relation to intellectual property law matters, including copyright, moral rights, artist's resale right, design law and trade mark law.

Before pursuing a legal career, Petra graduated with a BA in History of Art from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, United States, and an MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, and held research, collection management and business roles at museums, galleries and auction houses in the United States and London.

Petra has published papers in relation to consumer protection law and export licensing in the journal Art Antiquity and Law.
